for everyone
We thank God for the successful launching of Jesus Alone Saves Ministries in Purok 6, Sitio Mahabang Parang, Angono, Rizal last Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009.

The Lord granted us His favor by bringing fair weather and more people than we had hoped to come! Thanks to the diligence and winsomeness of the JASMin core leaders over 60 adults and more than 80 children turned out for the event.

Rev. Rene Carag, Section 3 Presbyter of the STDC-AG, also came to grace the occasion and formally install me and my family as the new pastor of what was formerly the Achievers of Christ Church. After my installation, I preached from Acts 4:12 and made a strong case for how and why it is only Jesus alone Who can save us and has saved us from our sins and all its ensuing complications.

Of course, prior to the Word so many things had already happened!

My wife Rose opened everything up by graciously welcoming everyone who had come, especially the parents of the students from Joyland Playschool ang Learning Center, from which the original church was birthed four years ago.

Ptr. Edgar Parom emceed the entire program. Jesi Rose led the people in worshipping God with songs, accompanied by Charles Keith on the beatbox and two other gentlemen on guitars. They made use of good old fashioned Manila paper in lieu of an LCD projector! How that brought back memories! =)

Some of the children from Sunday school did a wonderful dance number to the tune of "Every Move I Make" [or the "Nanananananana" song!].

Ptr. Edgar shared his testimony by singing a song to God's goodness.

It was all surreal for me really. I felt like the Lord had brought us back to our starting days - open air tent meeting, dirt floor, good old fashioned evangelistic preaching, lots of first time attendees. It was great!

The weather was all nice and clear. It only drizzled a bit towards the end part. And it wasn't a strong downpour at all! Just a nice, mild shower of blessing, long enough to be felt and short enough to be sweet to the soul.

After the program, the people who came were treated to a heavy snack of pansit and cassava bibingka specially made by our wonderful kitchen crew! Sarrrrraaaaap!

Lest I forget - while I was preaching, Jesi Rose was busy inside Joyland, teaching Sunday school to the 80 plus kids! Her 'church' was bigger than mine!

Hallelujah! What a wonderful, wonderful, blessed way to be spending a Sunday afternoon!

To all who prayed with us for this launching - THANK YOU! You have partnered with us n a most significant way. We continue to covet your prayers for this effort in advancing the Lord's Kingdom in the hearts of men!

To Rene and Connie, Edgar and Dina, Emma, Tina and Boyet, Dolores, and my family - THANK YOU for your heart to serve the Lord and bring the Gospel to the hearts of the people of Mahabang Parang. Let us continue to labor in His field, knowing full well that a great Harvest awaits!

And to You, our Mighty God and King...BLESSED BE YOUR NAME now and forever!

"Not to us, O LORD, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness." - Psalm 115:1
